Cost-Effective Alternative to Hardwood Flooring
When it comes to hard floorings, home and business owners have endless choices to pick from, among which are engineered hardwood floorings. Not so long ago, the only way to achieve the look of hardwood flooring was to go for solid hardwood, which stood as a challenge because of its high prices and maintenance costs.
Now engineered hardwood makes a cost-effective alternative for those who don’t want to compromise the classiness and durability of solid wood but would also prefer not to break the bank. It all comes down to the quality of the materials you choose and the precision of the installation process, and that’s what we offer
How We Install Engineered Hardwood
The best engineered hardwood flooring boasts many high-performance qualities and can add timeless liveliness to your house. That’s why we make sure to choose materials of the highest quality.
While engineered hardwood is easier to install than its solid counterpart, the proper installation ensures its longevity and long-term performance.
Generally, there are three ways to get your engineered hardwood down on the floor, depending on the type and condition of your subfloor.
- Gluing: For intact concrete subfloors, the glue-down process can be implemented. It offers the sturdiest outcome, yet it’s a bit time-consuming, so it’s mostly used for smaller rooms.
- Fastening: In which the engineered hardwood planks are nailed down to the subfloor. For this process to succeed, the subfloor should be made of wood, and underlayment might be needed.
- Floating installation: If your subfloor is weak or unhealthy and you have no plans of changing it, the floating method will be the most suitable one for you. It neither requires nailing or gluing; all you need is an underlayment over the subfloor, and you’re good to go.
